I am delighted to welcome you to the Newmarket Music Festival and Competition! We are excited to bring together young people who share a deep passion for music and are dedicated to expressing themselves through their art.
This festival and competition is a celebration of your talent, creativity, and hard work—a space where you can share your love of music, learn from one another, build meaningful connections, and inspire audiences from around the world.
We look forward to having you with us and celebrating the joy of music together!

The Newmarket Music Festival and Competition is committed to enriching Newmarket's arts community by providing local musicians and students with meaningful performance opportunities. Held in the historic, nearly 200-year-old Trinity United Church, the festival gives participants the unique experience of performing in one of Newmarket's treasured heritage venues. Through public performance and constructive adjudication, the festival builds confidence, encourages artistic excellence, and helps nurture the next generation of Canadian musicians. While the festival includes a competitive component, it is first and foremost an educational experience, providing participants with valuable learning opportunities through expert adjudication, constructive feedback, and musical mentorship. The festival fosters artistic growth, inspires a lifelong appreciation for music, and encourages students of all ages and abilities to develop their skills, confidence, and passion for performance in a supportive and inclusive environment. Supporting local musicians and composers is one of our core missions. For every festival edition, we will spotlight the work of one selected Canadian composer.
Trophy will be awarded to the 1st place winner during award ceremony.
